Deep Purple – Soldier of Fortune [audio only, studio version]

Written on November 22, 2007 – 12:02 am | by admin |

Soldier of Fortune is perhaps the best known song off Deep Purple’s 9th studio album, Stormbringer, released Dec 1974. The album marked a major shift in musical direction, where soul and funk elements became prominent. This displeased some fans and Blackmore himself, who left soon after the album release.

Written by David Coverdale and Ritchie Blackmore.

Lineup:

* Ritchie Blackmore – guitar
* David Coverdale – lead vocals
* Glenn Hughes – bass, vocals
* Jon Lord – organ, keyboards
* Ian Paice – drums
